History of Cincinnati
Cincinnati was first known as Fort Washington after the famous American president George Washington. In the late 1780s, it was named Losantiville and it was in the 1800s that this city was named Cincinnati. Interestingly, famous poet Henry W. Longfellow named this the Queen City of the West. Churchill is known to have said that Cincinnati was one of the most scenic cities in the Union. Cincinnati has many famous celebrities including writer Harriet Beecher Stowe and boxing champion Ezzard Charles. It was also the first city in America to have a baseball team which was professional. Cincinnati was also the birthplace of the famous Proctor and Gamble created by William Proctor and James Gamble. John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge
This bridge has been a symbol of Cincinnati since it was completed in the 1860s. It connects Cincinnati, Ohio with Covington in Kentucky state.
